Packing up!

Truck ready to go!
Here is our truck packed and ready to go. We decided it was better to go with dog power instead of horse power for this trip. (Not really, incase anyone wass wondering.)
We know things have been taking longer than expected but we still hope on beating the snow!

I have reserved a U-Haul for packing on July 15th but will probably need to change this date another week to make sure everything gets done that needs to be done. I have had people tell me of nightmare trips using U-haul trucks so maybe I should consider bringing some dogs.

Our departure date is coming quickly and so many last minute things to do.

Before we go we need to: (Please Pray)

  • raise the additional $400 per month support
  • replace our vehicle which I hope to happen this week
  • Sell our two old vehicles
94 Nissan Altima 140k miles (not very nice but runs good)
2000 Dodge Grand Caravan 78k miles (nice)
  • Pack
  • Recieve a special approval for work permit from Canada (any day now)

It is Awesome to see God at work!

If you are on our support list and we have your mailing address you will soon be recieving a letter with instructions on how and where to send in your support.

Get EXCITED!

Together, the McGrath family and you are in the midst of seeing God doing great things!

Border Crossing

Soon to be crossing into Manitoba Canada..

Here is a photo of the U.S./Canadian Border Crossing.

Whoever thought migrating into Canada was easy needs to try it. It has been a month long crazy experience so far and I haven't even left Texas yet.

Passports - Work Visas - HR Canada approval - study permits for the girls are some of the issues we are trying to understand and get completed.

The lates as of 06/23/06:
YFC has applied for a Human Resource approval to bring in a foreigner to fill the position. This will probably be another two weeks.
After recieving the approval which is called an LMO# we head out to cross the border. At the border with the LMO# we apply for all visas and permit and hopefully they are issued with no delays.

-PRAY that all the needed Visas, permits, and remaining finances needed come quickly.

Cedarwood Hosts Teen Moms Retreat

Teen Moms need Godly guidance.

They need to learn first about God's love, forgiveness, and mercy, but also how to care for their new child.

Youth For Christ Winnipeg offers a great program intentionally designed to meet these needs. It is called "Successful Teen Parenting."

This past weekend Cedarwood hosted a group of Teen Moms and their children. There were 30 children and their Moms.

The parents had opportunities to participate in great Godly worship services, informational classes, and fun activities with and without the children.

You can learn more about this program by visiting http://www.yfcwinnipeg.ca/teenmoms/

Preparing for Camp

The amazing summer camp at Cedarwood is soon to begin. We now have an additional ten staff on-site helping to get everything setup for the summer.
"To God be the glory, great things He has done!"

I'm reminded of the little boy who kept annoying his dad while he sat in his recliner reading the paper. Finally little Johnny ran, jumped up on his dad's lap, threw his arms around him and said "Dad, I just had to tell you how much I love you!"
Well, I just have to tell you what the Lord has been doing in our lives these last few months regarding our calling to the ministry with Youth For Christ in winnipeg, Manatoba.

It is hard to believe, but we have already reached over 70% of our needed financial faith promises. Reminds me of Philipians 4:19 "My God shall supply all your needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus." I think that the more we trust the Lord, the more He brings opportunities to truly trust Him.

For example, my one year intern job at the RadioShack Headquarters has been graciously extended to nearly two years now but could be terminated since they may begin lay-offs at anytime and Lisa's job teaching preschool has ended.

Yet we know our Father can and will keep doing exceedingly above anything we can ask or imagine. Lisa and I also know that through all these situations God is shaping us for our part in His great Kingdom work.

First, and most important, is our need for you to keep us in your prayers.

Remember what we learn in James 5:16
"The effective prayer of a righteous man can accomplish much."
One of the "problems" we have right now is a lack of patience. We are so excited and anxious to physically begin serving the Lord in Winnipeg now that the summer camp program is about to begin. Pray that we will be patient in serving the Lord each day right where we are.

Secondly, pray concerning that 25% still needed for our support. Many of you have already sent in your faith promise and we are so grateful for the commitment you have made.

Pray that the Lord will lay the burden of unreached teens upon the hearts of His people and they will see their need to become involved in this amazing camp ministry.

Maybe you have a small group, church, Sunday school, class, or business that would be interested in a worthy tax free donation.
